Moderator: Divya Tandon, CIO, Tandon Family Office; Managing Partner, SJI Properties; Apex Invest Advisory Board
Guest Speaker: Varun Soni, Dean of Religious Life at the University of Southern California, Second Generation Family Office
This session explores the concept of Spiritual Capital and how values, purpose, and legacy are shaping investment decisions among the next generation of wealth holders. UBS research suggests that up to 90% of heirs who inherit substantial wealth ultimately change their financial advisors once they assume control of those assets. In addition, nearly 70% of women inheritors are expected to change their advisors, underscoring how profoundly wealth transfer will reshape client relationships and the investment ecosystem.
With Divya Tandon moderating, this conversation will highlight how second-generation wealth holders are redefining the advisor–client dynamic, how women and other inheritors are demanding new standards of engagement, and how purpose-driven capital is poised to transform markets in the decades ahead.
Varun Soni Bio:
Varun Soni is the Dean of Religious Life at the University of Southern California, where he also served as the inaugural vice provost of campus wellness and crisis intervention, and where he currently teaches courses in the Marshall School of Business, the Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupation Therapy, and the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences. He is the first and only Hindu in American history to serve as the chief spiritual leader of a college or university. Prior to his role at the University of Southern California, he spent four years teaching courses in the Law and Society Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Following the keynote and speaker sessions, investors will enjoy 70 minutes of dedicated networking, accompanied by cocktails, live music, curated hors d’oeuvres, and an intimate setting designed to foster meaningful connections and conversations.
